The Cron manual says that the Daylight Savings Time (DST) is taken care of, but the automatic backup did not run on night of March 8th. It was scheduled to run 2:16 AM. Due to DTS the system clock shifted from 2AM to 3AM. No errors were logged. The only sensible explanation for the skipped backup is the DST shift. From this, I can predict that at the end of DST, when the clock shifts back from 2AM to 1AM, the tasks that are scheduled at 1:xx AM will try to run twice. As a new rule, I do not recommend scheduling important cron tasks between 1 AM and 3 AM. |
